The Implant Process
It can take roughly six months to get your new implant or set of implants installed. That’s because implants are the real deal — a sturdy, long-lasting foundation for replacement teeth that gets as close as possible to giving you the feeling of having a full set of natural teeth again.
Bone Grafting
You may need a bone graft to build up your jaw bone before you can begin the implant process. This is totally normal and will ensure that your jaw is healthy enough to successfully support your new implants
Implant Placement
Once your jaw is given the all-clear seal of approval, your dentist or oral surgeon will do what’s called placing your implants. This means that each implant — a titanium screw called a post — will be gently inserted into your jawbone, where it serves as a replacement to the root of a natural tooth.
Healing Time
Your jaw will need some time to integrate with the newly placed implants. Sit back, relax, and enjoy an often pain-free healing process that typically lasts for several months.
Abutment Placement
Once your implants are fully integrated with your jawbone, we’ll place titanium abutments on top to serve a connecting piece between the implant post and the final step — porcelain crowns that mimic the appearance and function of your natural teeth.
Restore Smile
Now you’re ready to go! We’ll place sturdy porcelain crowns on top of your implants to give you back your smile. These crowns can last for a decade or more and will blend in with your natural teeth.
